Christopher Ireland is quickly asserting himself as one of Australia's elite photographers. He works primarily as a portrait specialist for advertising agencies, but draws heavily on his background documenting Australia's middle and working-class.
His debut exhibition at the Australian Centre for Photography, BREATHE, attracted a front page feature in the Sydney Morning Herald and interviews with SBS World news and ABC radio. This exhibition later toured Australia.
His most recent work, Riverside, exhibited in a shipping container in Sydney's Botanical Gardens to compliment a wider exhibition staged by the POOL collective he is part of.
Chris has appeared twice as a panelist at the Australian Centre for Photography and spoken at PMA for Canon Australia. Agency clients include JWT, Leo Burnett, Moon Group, Ogilvy and Mather, and Clemenger BBDO. Advertising accounts include Kellogg's, Macquarie Bank, Bell Shakespeare, AMP, Energy Australia, AstraZenecca and Fairfax. Chris is a regular contributor to DEMO and SBS's Feast Magazine and was the winner of the Fairfax 2011 Shoot the Chef portrait competition.
